Wedding FAQs

Q- Do you do 'alternative' celebrations?
A- Absolutely! We will be delighted to take your pictures whether it's two of you in a chapel or a hundred of you in a stone circle. Whether you're a same sex couple having a Civil Partnership or Blessing, or an older couple renewing your vows after years together, everyone wants great photographs of their special day, and that's what we do!

Q- How do I book Julie-Ann Photography?
A – Simply give us a ring or drop us an e-mail. We’ll chat through what you want and find a package that suits you. We'll then send you contracts to sign and ask for 33% of the total as a deposit. (The next 33% payment is made at a time that’s agreeable to everyone, and the final 33% payment is due a month before the big day.) Once we've received the contracts and payment we'll arrange to meet you both at your venue (or venues if the set-up photos or reception are happening elsewhere.)

Before meeting up, we'll ask you to think about the set-up pictures that you want. Most people like to have a number of pictures taken of family and friends. We need to know who you'd like photographed and how you want them taken. For example should we just capture people 'as it happens' or do you want group pictures of mum and dad, friends, aunties and uncles, etc. We'll help you think it through.

After the ceremony we will personally deliver you photographs (distance allowing.) After you’ve had first viewing, the digital photographs that are taken will appear in the online gallery of our website. They can be viewed here and orders can be placed online.

Additional prints can be ordered at any point in future years.
Any picture can be produced in colour or black and white.

Q - Is it going to cost a lot?
A - No! A modest budget doesn't mean that you won't get great photos. Our minimum cost is £600 but packages can be built around what you want and your budget. Please get in contact to discuss this further.

Q - What if my partner or I feel awkward about having our picture taken?
A - Don't worry about it, many people do! We will put you right at ease and fit right in with your day. Julie has photographed many people in lots of situations and is known for her cheery and friendly style.

Q - What if I want pictures that are a bit different?
A - Different is great! We have photographed all kinds of celebrations and people, from traditional to downright unusual! We'd love to hear your ideas but can also give you lots of suggestions.

Q - How do you work on the day?
A - We don't hang about! We work quickly through the package of photography that you've agreed. We work efficiently through group pictures so that people don't get bored and everyone can get on with enjoying the day. For candid pictures however we take time to watch and unobtrusively capture those special moments. We are friendly and fun and will bring a spark to your wedding photos.

Q - What else can you offer?
A - As well as great formal, group and candid pictures, we can offer a variety of other options. These include bringing along our portable studio this is great for winter weddings if the weather is poor. We can also set it up to photograph all your guests as family groups. This is great fun and a real bonus for everyone.
We can also take Polaroids of the reception, get your guests to write personal messages and then collect them for you.

Q- What are your packages and are they flexible?
A- The packages are guidelines to what we can offer. (Please see the ‘Prices’ part of this page. ) Please feel free to talk to us about tailoring our photography to your specific needs.
